Non-fiction and poetry

Mae writes non-fiction essays and poetry, much of which carry themes from the natural world and the time she spends immersed in the woods and near the lake. Her work has been published in Dunes Review, Northerly Mag, The Boardman Review, Driftless, and more.

She has an on-going poetry project entitled “Lake Letters”, where she writes poems inspired by life in northern Michigan. In 2019, she self-published a book entitled “Lake Letters”, which features a collection of poems and essays about Lake Michigan. The book is available on her website, and in the following shops around Michigan:
