Welcome.
My name is Mae, and I am a writer and photographer living on the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary land of the Anishinaabek–Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples–in what is now known as northern Michigan. My photography and writing work is deeply inspired by and connected to this region near Lake Michigan that has become my home, and I am always working to be a better caretaker of the land and water around me.
I moved to northern Michigan to live closer to the Lake, and while living here I have been continually inspired by the artists and entrepreneurs who call this place home. There is no shortage of creative, outdoors-loving individuals around me, and working with other like-minded humans is a joy.
My background is in writing; I graduated with a degree in Creative Writing, and have continued to hone my skills ever since. I have self-published and successfully sold my own book, and also run a wedding photography business for northern Michigan weddings. You can view my wedding work here.
Whatever has drawn you here, I look forward to working together to tell your story.
