Begin and End // August 13, 2013 

I’m so lucky to be starting and ending each day this week on this perfect lake. Even Wednesday, when it was too chilly to swim, my mom and I were on the beach in the morning, watching hopeful surfers catch the tiny waves as the wind whipped our hair and we caught up on life. And as we do every day when we are on family vacation, we made sure to be on the lake for sunset, to catch the last of those orange rays before the lake swallowed them for the night. Life is far too lovely here.

Fireworks and Cake // May 28, 2013 

Celebrated a friend’s birthday with cake, fireworks, and sparklers last night. It was a random Tuesday night, but filled with the type of joy I’ve only rarely felt. After the fireworks, it started raining, and we let ourselves get drenched as we ran down the streets, screaming at the top of our lungs and letting the water make us new.
